New Eligibility information for Commercial & Industrial (C&I Solar)

Here’s an update with the new developments.

When Does the New Activity Start?

Installers will be able to start claiming only once Accredited Providers (APs) receive formal accreditation for the activity. Based on current guidance, this is expected to land between late November and early December.

VEEC Prices Are Sliding

The introduction of the new activity has been driving the VEEC price down. The spot price has now softened to $75, compared with $88 at the time of the initial announcement.

Location Eligibility

We already knew the activity was intended for non-residential buildings in Victoria, but a few grey areas have now been cleared up. The latest update confirms that:

  • Off-grid sites are not eligible

  • Motels are eligible

  • Farming or agriculture sites co-located with a home are eligible

Can You Add More Capacity?

Yes. A site can install up to 200 kW under the C&I Solar activity and then install additional capacity later using the M&V method.

When will GET be ready?

We expect have the activity 47 form ready in Geo by November 25th.
