New requirements for Water Heating and Space Heating and Cooling products in Victoria

New requirements for product categories 1, 3, 6 and 44 will commence on 31 March 2025 under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program

To prepare for this change, the ESC have assessed which products:

  • May no longer be valid for installation after 30 March 2025 as they have not been assessed as having met the new warranty requirements

  • Will remain valid for installation after 30 March 2025, as they meet the new warranty requirements.

To find out which products may no longer be listed on the VEU Register of Products when the warranty requirements take effect, please refer to the program update.

If you are currently engaged in or planning to undertake the above activities, you should review the program update to familiarise yourself with the amendments and to ensure compliance with the program rules.

What to do next

  • Now: Check the program update to see if you've quoted any products that may be removed from the registry after March 30.

  • From now on: Please do not quote these units for future installs unless you receive confirmation that the warranty has been updated to 5 years
