⚠️ Important: Safety Recall Update for Sigenergy Inverters

On 19 November 2025, the ACCC announced a safety recall for Sigenergy single-phase 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers that use the older quick-connect AC plug. This plug may overheat and get damaged, which can create a fire risk.

If you’ve installed one of these units, please contact Sigenergy or your supplier to organise a replacement.

You can read the full recall notice and instructions here.

What this means for your STCs

1. Jobs installed before 19/11 where STCs haven’t been claimed yet

You can still claim STCs, but only once the recalled plug has been replaced. Once you have received the replacement, please capture a photo of the new AC plug with the Onsite app and submit your job to us. The 2025 STCs will be retained for jobs commissioned prior to 19/11/25.

The CER has the full list of affected serial numbers.

2. Jobs not yet installed

Do not install any of the recalled models. If a recalled model is installed on or after 19/11/25, it will not be eligible to create STCs and the CER will not accept the commissioning date if the system installed included the recalled, faulty AC plug.
These jobs can only be commissioned once you receive the updated replacement unit. This may mean you are not eligible for the 2025 STC value, depending on when you receive a replacement

3. Jobs where STCs have already been paid
The inverter will still need to be replaced. The CER may ask for proof of this before approving the job.

What’s changing in Geo

We’re adding a new photo bucket in Geo to confirm the plug has been updated. You’ll need to upload a photo showing:

  • the recalled quick-connect plug has been replaced, or

  • the new OT terminal-style AC plug has been installed.

Only installs with the updated terminal plug will be eligible for STC creation. If you haven’t created STCs yet, you’ll need to provide this photo evidence.

Have a look at this guide to help you identify the recalled products and use this file understand the difference between the plug types.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this situation continues to evolve.
