Batteries will be eligible for PRCs from November 1st

Under the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Batteries installed from the 1st of November 2024 onwards will now be eligible for PRCs, so long as they meet the additional safety requirements and 10-year 70% warranty period.

Any batteries that are connected to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) will be eligible for additional PRCs for a deemed 3-year period whilst not restricting customers' ability to switch providers, further increasing the business case for BESS. NCBA welcomes this innovative approach to incentivising batteries’ installation, a key technology to achieving Net Zero.
