C&I Solar STCs: Deeming, Stacking & Connections
The federal government confirmed SRES is expanding from a 100kW to 1MW cap, expanding STC incentives to commercial and industrial scale.
Last Friday, we learned more:
Deeming Rate will be frozen until 2030
The deeming period for C&I STCs won’t decrease year-on-year as they do in Small Scale STCs. Instead, the rate is frozen at 2026 levels through to 31 December 203, giving installers more flexibility.
Adding capacity to an existing system
Add capacity to a sub-100kW system and push the total over 100kW, and the whole system moves into the frozen-rate bracket, not just the new capacity.
However, adding capacity that pushes the system above 1 MW will make it ineligible.
Plans for stacking with State Schemes
There are developing conversations around the possibility of stacking STCs with VEECs and PRCs, but it’s not confirmed.
