New Geotagged Photo Requirements – Switchboards from April 2026
Starting 23 April 2026, the new additional photos will be required to create VEECs and access VEU rebates.
The Essential Services Commission (ESC) updated the geotagged photo requirements are:
Main switchboard before installation
Main switchboard after installation (cover removed)
Wiring used for the installation, showing type and size where markings are visible
For post-install photos, make sure the following details are clearly visible:
Circuit where the product is installed, showing the amperage rating
Main switch, showing the amperage rating
How this affects your team
These photos are usually captured by a certified electrician on site.
Currently, registered plumbers often upload photographic evidence through the Onsite App, but this will now include more detailed photo requirements.
How we’re supporting you
The Onsite App will add the new photo fields early as non-mandatory fields, so your team can practice capturing the required photos ahead of the 23 April deadline.
The App will clearly separate requirements for electricians and plumbers to make it easier for everyone.
Any assigned technician (plumber or electrician) can capture the evidence — no restrictions.
Detailed photo descriptions and examples will also be provided closer to the official rule change date.
Our team is here to support you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
