New Commercial & Industrial Solar Activity in Victoria
The Victorian Government is adding a new opportunity for businesses installing solar systems between 30 kW and 200 kW.
The new activity under the VEU program offers upfront VEEC incentives for large, non-residential solar systems. It gives installers an opportunity to access new incentives and make projects more attractive to businesses.
To be qualify for incentives, the solar PV systems must:
Be installed at non-residential premises
Be 30–200 kW in size with at least 30 kVA inverter capacity
Connect to the relevant DNSP and comply with its contract
Be limited to one solar system per National Meter Identifier (NMI)
Include access to monitoring portal accessible by the end user
Be eligible for VEECs once energised and provided installation commences after 29 September 2025.
Product & warranty requirements
All panels and inverters must be CEC-approved
For systems under 100 kW, panels must be from a Solar Panel Validation Initiative (SPVI)
Minimum warranty: 5 years for inverters, 10 years for panels
Further information on the new C&I Solar PV activity can also be found on the VEU Commercial and Industrial Solar webpage.
