New Commercial & Industrial Solar Activity in Victoria

The Victorian Government is adding a new opportunity for businesses installing solar systems between 30 kW and 200 kW.

The new activity under the VEU program offers upfront VEEC incentives for large, non-residential solar systems. It gives installers an opportunity to access new incentives and make projects more attractive to businesses.

To be qualify for incentives, the solar PV systems must:

  • Be installed at non-residential premises

  • Be 30–200 kW in size with at least 30 kVA inverter capacity

  • Connect to the relevant DNSP and comply with its contract

  • Be limited to one solar system per National Meter Identifier (NMI)

  • Include access to monitoring portal accessible by the end user

  • Be eligible for VEECs once energised and provided installation commences after 29 September 2025.

Product & warranty requirements

  • All panels and inverters must be CEC-approved

  • For systems under 100 kW, panels must be from a Solar Panel Validation Initiative (SPVI)

  • Minimum warranty: 5 years for inverters, 10 years for panels

Further information on the new C&I Solar PV activity can also be found on the VEU Commercial and Industrial Solar webpage.
