VEU Update: Changes to Activity 44 – Commercial and Industrial Heat Pumps

VEU Activity 44 Changes Coming 25 July 2025: Product Requirements, Incentives & Co-Payments

The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) team has released an important update regarding Activity 44. These changes will take effect from 25 July 2025 and cover:

  • Minimum product requirements

  • Incentive calculation changes

  • A new minimum co-payment amount

Key Updates Effective 25 July 2025:

  • Tanks under 700 litres are no longer eligible under Activity 44 for installations on or after 25 July. If you have stock under 700L that won't be installed by then, you may still claim it under Activities 1C or 3D, provided the product is also VEU-approved for those activities.

  • VEEC calculation methods are changing for all eligible systems installed on or after 25 July. The updated calculation method will be confirmed in approximately 6–8 weeks once the registry is updated.

  • Minimum co-payment has increased to $1,000 per tank for systems installed on or after 25 July.

  • New eligibility criteria for manifold tank installations are also on the way.
