Changes to Battery STC calculations from 1 May 2026
On 13 December 2025, the Australian Government announced updates to the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. These changes are designed to keep the program sustainable and relevant as battery uptake grows.
Green Energy Trading has been restricted from undertaking VEU non-building-based lighting upgrades (Activity 35) for a period of three months
The matter relates to a small number of projects delivered by a single contractor, where consumer consent documentation for some non-building-based lighting upgrades did not meet the VEU’s requirements.

⚠️ Important: Safety Recall Update for Sigenergy Inverters
On 19 November 2025, the ACCC announced a safety recall for Sigenergy single-phase 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers that use the older quick-connect AC plug. This plug may overheat and get damaged, which can create a fire risk
